The Promise of Artificial Intelligence
Microfinance
The recent growth of computational power and structured datasets now allows deep learning algorithms to finally achieve a better-that-human-level accuracy in a number of recognition and classification tasks. In these new days, computers are now able to recognize objects in images and video, transcribe speck to text and translate languages nearly as well as humans can.
Social Justice
It’s important to mention that not all the people in the world have access to phones as we are all use to, but this can help minors in developing countries rich out and ask for help. UNICEF’s U-Report is a social reporting bot that enables young people in developing countries to report social injustice in their communities via SMA and other messaging platforms. This platform uses a natural language interface to capture insights and performing statistical analysis on the results, the team uses the information to identify and tackle challenging social issues.
Medical Diagnosis
AI can help improve medical care, health and people’s wellbeing. Many fields in medicine are implementing AI to help diagnose different types of diseases, such as cancer.
Artificial intelligence can be used to tackle many of the world’s greatest challenges, if used wisely. If not, it can unintentionally amplify many of humanity’s worst traits.
